Chocolates recalled over Salmonella contamination

choceur-treasures-sizedThe UK Food Standards Agency has announced that supermarket chain Aldi has recalled 200g packs of Choceur Treasures (whole hazelnuts wrapped in waffle and milk chocolate) because Salmonella has been detected in a single batch of the product.

The recall includes Choceur Treasures with a best before date of 1September 2015 and the affected batch was only sold through Aldi stores in the Midland region. It is reported that the product was manufactured in Germany, but the identity of the manufacturer has not yet been confirmed.

Recall notices are being displayed in Aldi stores and customers are advised not to eat the chocolates, but to return them to the nearest store. There are no reports of related cases of illness to date.
