Organic yoghurts recalled over potential contamination

YoBaby yoghurtThe US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that organic yoghurt manufacturer Stonyfield is voluntarily recalling 188 6-packs of 4-ounce YoBaby Peach/Pear Yoghurt Cups because of possible contamination with coliform bacteria.

The recalled yoghurt cups are marked with the date code June 05 2014 and were distributed to Target stores in Alabama, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina and Walmart stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware.

The potential contamination was detected by internal testing, which showed that some products shipped from the company’s Londonderry plant could be contaminated with coliforms. No related cases of illness have been reported.
