The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that Whole Foods Market stores in South Weymouth and Newton in Massachusetts are recalling 368 pounds of ground beef products that may be linked to cases of E. coli O157:H7 infection.
The recall affects multiple products sold through both locations and produced on 8, 10 and 21 June 2014.
An investigation into a cluster of three cases of E. coli O157:H7 conducted by FSIS, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and CDC has established a link with consumption of ground beef purchased at two Whole Foods Market stores. The investigation is now continuing to try and identify a common source of contamination.
